At the entrance to Valence, overnight, the old blue footbridge connecting the town to the Rhône was dismantled. A new structure, installed in its place, now leads from the town centre to the heart of Girodet Park, spanning the A7 motorway.
On the village side, the footbridge consists of a ramp that winds around a colonnade, an aerial section above the road infrastructure and a gently sloping landing on the park side.
The overall profile of the structure is slender, with a 23-metre-high mast and its guy wires forming the visual identity of the structure when viewed from the A7 motorway.
The footbridge is accessible to all: bicycles, pedestrians and people with reduced mobility.
The mast and colonnade on the town side are spectacular, while all the other elements (deck, guardrails, abutments, etc.) are soberly designed.

The functional lighting for the structure is integrated into the architectural elements: guardrails, ramp edges.
In addition, a dynamic white lighting system illuminates the top of the mast and the colonnade at nightfall.
A belvedere located 200 metres from the footbridge completes the project. Overlooking the water, it offers an unobstructed view of the Rhône and the Ardèche plateau.
Solar lighting accompanies the belvedere.
