The project involves the design of functional lighting and the illumination of a 150-metre-long footbridge spanning the river at the Gare la Vallée urban development zone (ZAC), providing a green link between the town and the countryside, connecting the town centre, the railway station and the Hortillonnages nature reserve.
The functional lighting fixtures are mounted within the handrail rails. These very slim fixtures (diameter 16 mm, length 15 mm) are installed at regular intervals on both sides, aligned with the vertical posts.
The stainless steel posts are illuminated at their upper section. In this way, the functional lighting contributes to the illumination of the footbridge. The illuminance achieved across the width of the footbridge is 20 lux. It is uniform across the entire width and length of the footbridge and, in accordance with the PMR standard, the drivers are remotely mounted.
The lift lobbies, made of perforated sheet metal, are illuminated from within by RGBW spotlights. They serve as lanterns on each bank of the River Somme. The dynamic, colourful lighting adapts its hues and intensities to different times of the night as well as to the calendar of events organised by the city of Amiens within its boundaries.
