‘Fire solo mouvement’ is a light and video installation on the façade of the Théâtre des Célestins, created as part of the Festival of Lights in Lyon in 2002.
The image is light.
Treating the image as light and creating lighting atmospheres that form an image: these are the aims of the project.
Synopsis.
The overall movement is conceived as a long forward tracking shot towards the façade. The windows of the theatre foyer overlooking the square gradually light up, revealing the theatre’s interior décor.
A fire breaks out on the façade and spreads rapidly, gradually consuming the building. In the final frame, the theatre’s façade is suddenly plunged into darkness.
The loop lasts seven minutes, followed by a short interval, during which the lights of the fountains illuminate the square once more.
